Anti-Wrinkle and Prevention

Being performed by NMAC experienced doctors and registered nurses, anti-wrinkle injections can create a natural-looking reduction in lines and wrinkles – leaving you with a softer and brighter look.

WHAT ARE ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?

Anti-wrinkle injections are non-surgical procedures that help prevent and lighten unwanted facial wrinkles caused by muscle movements. This is achieved by the administering of Botulinum toxin which is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium A. Botulinum toxin can relax the muscles on areas of the face and neck which cause wrinkles associated with facial expressions or facial pain. Treatment with botulinum toxin can cause your facial expression lines or wrinkles to be less noticeable or essentially disappear. Botulinum toxin injection are commonly used for cosmetic and medical reasons, such as temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles, eye disorder, muscle stiffness/spasms, prevent migraines, drooling/excess saliva, overactive bladder.

What are wrinkles?

Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. As people get older, their skin gets thinner, drier, and less elastic, and less able to protect itself from damage. This leads to wrinkles, creases, and lines on the skin.

Environmental factors such as smoking can accelerate the development of wrinkles.

Facial expressions, for example, repeatedly smiling, frowning, or squinting can lead to fine lines and wrinkles at a younger age.

How The Treatment Works

Muscle relaxants blocks nerve signals to muscles, so the injected muscle is not able to contract without a signal. These effects are always temporary and last for few months. Several areas can be treated in one session.

 COMMONLY USED AREAS IN COSMETIC:

Areas most frequently treated are: a) glabellar area of frown lines, located between the eyes; b) crow’s feet (lateral areas of the eyes); c) forehead wrinkles; d) radial lip lines (smoker’s lines), e) head and neck muscles; f) bunny lines.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MUSCLE RELAXANTS TO WORK?

After injection, some people notice the effects around a week; full results take around two weeks.

HOW LONG DOES MUSCLE RELAXANTS LAST?

Muscle relaxants wears off and muscle regains movement around three to six months after injection.  So wrinkles may come back, migraines and swearing may resume. To maintain results, you may need to receive injection on a regular basis.

HOW DOES MUSCLE RELAXANTS FOR MIGRAINES WORK?

MUSCLE RELAXANTS may work for migraine headaches because it blocks chemicals called neurotransmitters that carry pain signals from the brain.

DOES MUSCLE RELAXANTS HURT?

We use extremely small needles for injections. Most people experience little to no pain during treatment. Some people feel a slight pinching or stinging sensation. We can apply a topical numbing cream before the treatment if you are worried about the pain.

CAN YOU GET MUSCLE RELAXANTS WHILE PREGNANT/ BREASTFEEDING?

There is insufficient date to be certain that MUSCLE RELAXANTS injection is likely to harm the baby. However there is no guarantee that it is safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding, it is best to be on the safe side and not take the risk.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUSCLE RELAXANTS AND DERMAL FILLERS?

Muscle relaxants: This freezes muscles to stop creases and wrinkles caused by facial expressions. These are typically found in the upper face, such as the forehead and around the eyes.

Dermal fillers: These use hyaluronic acid and similar substances to “fill in” or plump areas that have lost volume and smoothness. This includes wrinkles around the mouth, thin lips, and cheeks that have lost fullness. They may also be used on forehead wrinkles, scars, and other areas that need extra volume for a smoother look.

Muscle relaxants results last 3 to 4 months. Dermal filler results vary, depending on which area is used.

Because Muscle relaxants and fillers are different substances designed for different uses, they can sometimes be combined in one treatment. For instance, someone may use Muscle relaxants to correct lines between the eyes and a filler to correct smile lines around the mouth.
